Project Overview

Kindergarten students at the Odyssey School of Denver worked on creating compelling story books featuring a favorite animal as the main character. To write engaging stories students brainstormed animals they loved, researched a chosen favorite including that animal's habitat, and created a setting map. Students completed multiple drafts with critique and revision, clarifying their ideas and improving their conventions. Students included all drafts in the final illustrated, annotated, high-quality product.
