Project Overview
After analyzing the path of the Buddha in Siddhartha, students at High Tech High School in San Diego, California created new stories of Siddhartha in the context of a different time period and location as part of an English and Art Senior Project.
In order to write a well-prepared and historically accurate story, the students created design maquettes and storyboards, which are featured in this book. The design maquettes gave students a chance to research and identify historically accurate signs of the times to include in their stories. Each storyboard is composed of twenty to thirty vignettes that portray the actions in their story outline.
The design maquettes and the storyboards were created using source images to trace, scan and digitally color in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator. Both of these products were used as references to assist the students during the writing process.
The storyboards were exhibited at the Bird Rock Coffee Roasters and the La Jolla Light published an article on the exhibition. The book can be purchased here.
