Project Overview

This project was designed to support their learning in Expedition (Module) #2: Fossils. The project’s title is Scientific Fossil Illustrations. Students chose a fossil to study in their home crew and created a scientifically accurate illustration of that fossil in art. The final draft was used as the cover of the book they created for their final product in expedition. Students created multiple drafts while building their craft in between. Through the creation of their Scientific Fossil Illustration, students were able to understand how art can be used to teach others about a subject, draw scientifically accurate fossils, continue broadening their understanding of the creative process and enhance their understanding of high quality craftsmanship.
