Project Overview

For their spring 2022 expedition, the Centaur class was asked the question, “Where in the World is Santa Fe?” During this expedition, we began learning about geography through the lens of the five Themes of Geography. The themes include location, place, movement, human-environment interactions, and regions. We also explored maps, atlases, and many more maps! We were inspired by the work of the 2014 second and third-grade class from Palouse Prairie School of Expeditionary Learning in Moscow, Idaho, and their amazing atlas, which is a Model of Excellence. The idea also inspired our expedition. To further explore the five themes of geography, students chose different Santa Fe locations around the world to research and collaborated to create the Atlas. It took each group several drafts to achieve the final product being submitted.
