Project Overview
This series of original songs were written and performed by students at Polaris Expeditionary Learning School in Fort Collins, CO. These songs were created during a week-long intensive enrichment experience for students in 7th–12th grade.
Professional musicians (Kathryn Mostow, Justin Roth and Danielle Anderson) from the local community volunteered their time throughout the week to help lead short workshops, critique sessions and group instruction.
The students worked in small groups of varying abilities, interests and age groups throughout the week. At the end of the intensive, the students performed their completed songs in the Poudre School District’s Channel 10 studio. An audio version of the show was broadcast on a local radio station and a video of the final performance (seen here) was posted on the school district’s web site.
