EQuiP Student Work Protocol

Format(s): EL Document

Topic(s): Plan Instruction

Audience: Educators

This protocol was developed to support schools and districts to analyze alignment of lessons and curriculum with Common Core State Standards. It uses student work generated from assignments as a basis for analysis of how sharply the curricular task and lesson design promotes achievement of Common Core skills. This tool was developed by the non-profit organization Achieve to accompany its other EQuIP instruments to support schools in alignment with Common Core standards. It is not a tool for analyzing the quality of student work; it is explicitly focused on using work to check for alignment of lessons and curriculum with standards. Often the process of aligning curriculum and lessons with standards focuses on adult work (the design of the curriculum and lesson), rather than what those lessons actually compel and support students to create.
