7th-grade students designed a compost system for the school based on research and worked with compost engineer experts as part of our soil expedition (Dead or Alive - the Dirt on Soil). Students first learned about soil, the importance of carbon in soil, what plants need, and nitrogen cycling.
The Fossil Hunter poems and artwork were created by third-grade students at Big Pine Elementary as part of their Fossils Tell of Earth Long Ago learning expedition. The poetry and art projects were included in a culmination fossil journal and were displayed at the Celebration of Learning.
Ten high school students rehearsed together to put together an audio play of The Diary of Anne Frank to be used as a resource for the KUSD middle school teachers and students who study this play every spring as part of the required curriculum.
During the 2022-2023 school year, seventh and eighth grade students at Polaris Charter Academy focused on learning physics and chemistry through multiple lenses.
This project was the result of the EL Curriculum; Grade 1. Module 3 final performance task. Students learn about various bird characteristics that help birds survive.
